Burt Hurlock, Chief Executive Officer
Burt Hurlock is Azima’s CEO, and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He is responsible for Azima’s strategic growth initiatives, and oversees day-to-day operations. Burt has spent more than 20 years as an entrepreneur and investor. He has founded, advised, built, operated, and/or sold almost a dozen venture-backed operating companies, and has completed more than 40 acquisitions. Burt holds a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Joe Van Dyke, Vice President, Engineering and Business Intelligence
Joe Van Dyke is Azima’s Vice President of Engineering and Business Intelligence, and directs all aspects of the design, development, and evolution of the company’s hardware, software, databases, algorithms, and related technologies. He is the original designer and developer of the automated diagnostic system software contained in Azima’s ExpertALERT predictive maintenance systems. Joe is a past recipient of the US Department of the Navy’s Reliability, Maintainability & Quality Assurance Award, given in recognition of his contribution to overall fleet readiness through the development and deployment of Azima software. Joe holds a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington, and is a licensed mechanical engineer in the State of Washington. He is the author of several papers on the subject of automated diagnostic techniques for machinery.
Richard Cellini, Vice President, Marketing
Richard Cellini is Azima’s Vice President of Marketing, and is responsible for the company’s branding, positioning, messaging and demand-generation. Over the past 20 years, he has held a variety of senior leadership positions with venture-backed data & information companies serving global corporate markets, including Salary.com (which went public on NASDAQ in 2007). Richard has Bachelor’s degree and a JD from Georgetown University, and a Master’s degree from Cambridge University (UK). He is a member of the bar in New York and the District of Columbia.
Tim Kelley, Director, North American Sales
Tim Kelley is Director of North American Sales for Azima. He manages Azima’s inside and field sales teams, and leads the effort to expand the company’s footprint in the global market for Production Uptime Management. Tim brings strong engineering, operations and team-leadership skills to this role, drawing upon his years of experience in the defense and high-tech industries. Prior to Azima, Tim served as an officer in the United States Air Force, where he oversaw software development and contract implementation. Tim graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, and from Boston University with an MBA.
Paul Berzins, Director, Finance & Accounting
Paul Berzins is Azima’s Director of Finance & Accounting, and brings more than 20 years of domestic and international experience to the management of the company’s financial reporting operations. Prior to joining Azima, Paul served as Director of Global Finance at Dextrys, responsible for overseeing its international financial operations. Paul has held financial leadership roles with Teradyne; Manufacturer’s Services Ltd.; Cambridge Technology Partners; and Aspen Technology. He has worked on IPOs, debt acquisition/refinancing transactions, acquisitions and divestitures over the course of his career. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northeastern University, and an MBA in Finance from Bentley College.
